At Desert Gateway, we want you to feel completely comfortable and at home when you come to church. Great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and an enjoyable environment for your entire family is all part of the church experience. We know that your first time at a church can be uncomfortable and we want to help you answer some of your basic questions before you even arrive in the parking lot. Here's a quick look at what you can expect when you visit Desert Gateway Baptist Church:
Our Culture
When you attend Desert Gateway Baptist Church, you will notice a very diverse congregation makes up our church family. Each week, people of all ages, ethnicity, and backgrounds come together for the common purpose of worshipping the Lord. The Bible is clear that we are to preach the Gospel to every creature.
Our Campus
God has blessed us with a wonderful church property! Though we do not yet have our buildings on a main road, it can be easy to find us. We are located on Pony Lane, which is located between Williams Field (Chandler Blvd.) and Ray Roads off of Gilbert Road. Pony Lane is on the east side of Gilbert Road. When you come down Pony Lane, we are the last property on the left side of the street. Our campus has four different buildings. The main church services are located in the Worship Center which is the largest building on our campus (third building on the right). Ushers, dressed in maroon coats, can further assist you in finding classrooms and nurseries.
Our Classes
At Desert Gateway Baptist Church, we have classes for all ages. To find out what class best fits your needs, click on the ministries tab. If you would like more information about the classes themselves, feel free to contact us at the church office.
Our Children
We understand that your most precious blessings from God are your children. And for that reason, we have well-qualified caregivers, teachers, and workers in each class. Each one is a faithful member of Desert Gateway Baptist Church and has been interviewed and trained for their positions. Every person that works on our children's ministries (which includes our Student Ministries), has gone through various policy and procedure manuals as well as an Arizona Department of Public Safety background check.
nurseries (0-3) Because babies have different needs, we currently have four nurseries to accommodate them. Our nurseries are clean, inviting, and safe. Each child is cared for in a very special way.
children (4 years old - 6th grade) It is of the utmost importance that our children learn of God and His love at a very young age. The Bible can be difficult for children to comprehend but with the help of age-appropriate curriculum and well-trained teachers, they can learn more about Jesus and His Word!
teens (7th - 12th grade) The Student Ministries of Desert Gateway Baptist Church is a place where teens can find real answers, real fun, and real friends. Through practical Bible teaching and monthly activities, teenagers are taught scriptural principles and prepared for life after high school.
Our Community
Church is a good place to find good friends! That is why we have more opportunities for you to get to know our church. Some of the activities include picnics, snow trips, bowling, ice skating, conferences, and retreats. These events happen in a church-wide format or through the different Sunday school and adult Bible classes.
Our Commitment
When you come to Desert Gateway Baptist Church, we are committed to providing for you an experience like no other! You will hear a practical, Bible-based message and you will receive a friendly welcome. No matter what your background, we are simply glad to have you in our service. You need not participate in the offering either. Allow us to make our church service a gift to you. Our prayer is that you will feel refreshed through the music, received through the friendliness, and renewed through the preaching. Please do not feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there's something we missed, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Desert Gateway will be awesome! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally.
We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto our campus! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
